This strawberry pomegranate iced tea is the easiest and most refreshing drink ever. It’s fruity, lightly sweet, perfectly chilled, and one of those drinks that looks fancy but takes very little effort. I love making this when I want something special without turning on the stove.

This is my go-to recipe for Valentine’s Day, Galentine’s Day, or even a quiet afternoon treat at home. I steep green tea and combine it with fresh puréed strawberries and pomegranate, a little honey, and fresh lemon juice for brightness. Once chilled, everything comes together beautifully.

Now, let’s talk about the pinch of salt, because yes, it really works its magic in sweet tea, especially when lemon juice is involved. My number one tip is to add it while the tea is still hot so it dissolves well and enhances the sweetness without making the drink taste salty.

Simple, elegant, and refreshing, this iced tea is perfect for sharing or keeping all to yourself.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 green tea bag
  • 1 cup pomegranate juice
  • 8 strawberries
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp honey (adjust to taste)
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Ice cube

For Garnish:

  • Sliced strawberries
  • Sliced lemon

Method:

  1. Heat the kettle to 100°C and pour the hot water over the green tea bag. Let it steep for 4–5 minutes. Remove the tea bag, stir in the salt while the tea is still hot, and set aside to cool completely.
  2. Blend the strawberries with pomegranate juice until smooth.
  3. Add the strawberry pomegranate juice, honey, cooled tea, and lemon juice to a jug and stir well to combine.
  4. Fill two to three glasses with plenty of ice and pour in the iced tea.
  5. Garnish with sliced strawberries and lemon, then serve chilled.

Top Tips:

  • If your pomegranate juice is very tart, add ½–1 tsp extra honey to balance it, especially if serving for Valentine’s Day.
  • You can strain the purée if you prefer a smoother iced tea.
