Gourmet Precision Range Mechanism
The carbon steel mechanism is designed to strip peppercorns not crush them, crushing can supress the flavour. Stripping the peppercorn brings out natural oils in the peppercorn, releasing more flavour, aroma and is ideal for the best seasoning during and after cooking. All precision mills are adjustable to change the coarseness of the grind. This mechanism has machine cut, case hardened premium carbon steel. The carbon steel has surface plating for anti-corrosion protection, more robust performance and increased longevity. The ultra-sharp mechanism design ensures increased grinding durability and the spring loaded design ensures even grinding consistency. A metal stirrup bar is used rather than plastic giving additional strength, this mechanism will not corrode during usage so you can grind, flavour and season with confidence with its lifetime guarantee. Salt cannot be used in a mill with a carbon steel mechanism as this will rust the mechanism.
Precision Mills - Ceramic Salt Mechanism
This mechanism is made with white alumina ceramic. The alumina ceramic, like a diamond, is among the hardest materials known to man, 60% stronger than conventional steatite ceramic components. This cuts through rock salt producing maximum flavour to season your food. All precision as spring-loaded for even and adjustable grinding to season with precision during and after cooking. It has an open cavity design for maximum throughput of salt grinds. The material is non-wearing and has anti-corrosion features, giving you reassurance that salt will not corrode the mechanism. It is also resistant to clogging as ceramic is non-static, therefore producing exceptional output of ground salt every time.

Every Day - Stainless Steel Pepper Mechanism
Sintered stainless steel material is made from powdered high pressure pressed steel. Ideal for use as a pepper mechanism because it is designed to strip peppercorns not crush them - this crushing can supress the flavour. Every Day - Nylon Salt Mechanism
This is made using an injection moulding process, plastic is directly put into a mould at high pressure. Both inner and outer mechanisms are made using male and female tools not split tools - split tools will wear quicker. Nylon is used due to its hard wearing characteristics and suitability for use with sea salt, as it is softer than rock salt.
