Prep: 10 mins
Cooking time: 20 mins
Difficulty: Easy
Serves: 6 - 8
Ingredients:
- 1 large slab of pork belly – I used a piece that was 1kg
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon runny honey
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
Preheat the air fryer to 200°C. (Or if using a conventional oven, pre-heat to 200C fan)
Pat dry the pork belly and cut it into 1-inch pieces.
In a large bowl, combine the oil, brown sugar, garlic powder, salt, pepper and smoked paprika.
Add the pork belly pieces to the oil mixture, ensuring each piece is well covered.
Lay the pork belly pieces in a single layer in the air fryer basket. (I was able to fit all the pieces in the basket of my air fryer, but you may need to split them up into two or three batches, depending on the size of your air fryer.)
Air fry the pork belly cubes for 18-20 minutes, shaking and flipping them a couple of times throughout the cooking time. Please note: air frying times could differ depending on the size of your pork belly pieces and the size of your air fryer.
Serve hot.
Tip: It’s easier to cut the pork belly if it’s been in the fridge for at least 1 hour as it’s firmer.
Once the pork belly is seasoned, it can be kept in an air tight container in the fridge for 24 hours before being cooked.
