Gluten Free Air Fryer Salt & Pepper Chicken

By Katrina Lander

This recipe is so simple, bursting with flavour, and only takes 15 minutes in the air fryer, it’s also gluten free.

My air fryer salt and pepper chicken really made me feel like I was eating a takeaway, except this one is healthier and cheaper (what’s not to love?).

Prep: 40 mins

Cook: 15 minutes

Difficulty Easy

Serves  2-3

Ingredients

  • 400g Boneless chicken thighs, cut into even bitesize chunks
  • 1 Tbsp gluten free soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp garlic paste or puree
  • 2 Tsp’s ginger paste or puree
  • 100g Cornflour
  • 1 Tsp Chinese five spice
  • 1 Tsp salt
  • 1 Tsp pepper
  • Spring onion and birds eye chilli to garnish (optional)

Method

  1. In a bowl mix your chicken, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger paste. Leave to marinade for 30 minutes.
  2. Mix your cornflour with the Chinese five spice, salt, and pepper. Tip your cornflour mixture over the chicken and coat well. Using a sieve shake off the excess cornflour.
  3. Preheat your air fryer at 180°C. Line your air fryer and lay the chicken pieces in one layer so they don’t overlap. Spray with cooking oil and cook for 10 Turn your chicken and cook for a final 5 minutes at 200°C until crispy.
  4. Garnish with finely sliced spring onion and birds eye chilli, serve alongside Asian greens and plain rice or noodles.
